Wizard of Oz nails: ruby slippers and blue gingham. Sorry about the horrible cuticles! More chat here.
Another quickie (but a goodie I think) in a variant on one of my favourite colour combinations - red, white and blue. Lovely and nautical for spring! Polishes info on the blog.
This blue, gold and teal mani uses Accessorize nail speckle in ‘Damselfly’ which is pretty beautiful I think! Read about it and see a closeup on my blog.
Blue ruffly nails. You can find details about the polishes I used for this mani on my blog!
A frosty mani using Revlon Whimsical: more on my blog.
Latest wheeze: FURRY NAILS! I think the official term is ‘flocked nails’ as this look is achieved using something called flocking powder, which you can easily find on eBay. I got a pack of 12 little pots in different colours for around £2. You have to paint your nail a base colour (as close to the fluff colour as you can find), then one by one paint a second coat, pour over the flocking powder and press it on. Brush off any loose bits and tip back into the pot (like when you put glitter on Christmas cards when you were little). Try one more round of fluff to cover it properly then move on to your next nail! These lasted two days before going significantly bald and they were pretty hilarious. My friends didn’t know what to make of them!
Just a nice pretty colour combo. The maroon/glitter ones are Essie Angora Cardigan/Urban Outfitters Dust and the patterned ones are Essie Wicked over Essie Lapis of Luxury, with a stamp from Bundle Monster plate BM223.
Red and blue gradient with hearts (sorry for pic again, normal camera should be back by next post)
Jumping on the gradient bandwagon with these pastel nails
Duochrome gradient using Nails Inc Garrick St (the metallic) and Connaught Sq (the glitter) - they both shift blue/purple. This was a pleasingly shiny/sparkly mani but I couldn’t quite capture it on camera!
Mosaic nails. I’m a bit disappointed with these but not sure why - maybe it’s the colours I used? I think I’ll have another go at a mani like this some time but do it over white with bright bright colours instead.
