Art Deco nails which are a bit inspired by Gatsby although I haven’t seen it so more accurately, inspired by all the other inspired-by-Gatsby art deco nails! Visit my blog to find out which polishes I used for this look.
Can you tell I bought some nail art supplies recently? These nails are done using gold and silver foils, which I bought from Born Pretty Store. I painted on my base colours (Urban Outfitters Cocktail and Crowded) and cut my foils (which come in little folded sheets and are very, very thin and light) into smaller squares. Then nail by nail I painted another coat and pressed the foil onto the nail varnish while it was still sticky. I used a wet cotton bud to smooth out the foil and then pulled off/trimmed the edges, before sealing with a topcoat. I think it looks pretty cool and I’ll definitely try more colour and design combinations. I imagine nails that were completely foiled would look good as well!
This amazing gold glitter is by a brand called ‘Tokidoki’. The gold is called ‘Savana’ and it’s one of two Tokidoki polishes that I bought in Sephora in Seattle: but they were reduced because they were being discontinued! Sad times because both glitters give full, super-sparkly coverage in two coats. SO PRETTY…
Hi all! Sorry for the long hiatus: I was in the States for six weeks so I didn’t have much time to do my nails. But now I am back with my three most recent manicures! This was my first attempt at peacock nails, I’m reasonably pleased with it (not so happy with the photo) but I think next time I’ll paint in the feathers in gold, this look is a bit more abstract.
